Acts under The Company Rule has greatly influenced our Present constitution.

Few of the important Acts under The Company Rule are:-

Regulating Act of 1773

Features:-

1>Governor of Bengal became Governor-General of Bengal.

2>Governor of Bombay and Madras became sub-ordinate to Governor-General of Bengal. (बंबई और मद्रास के गवर्नर बंगाल के गवर्नर-जनरल के अधीनस्थ बन गए)

3>Establishment of Supreme court at Calcutta(1784).

4>Court of Directors to report the British government on its revenue, Civil and military affairs in India. (भारत में अपने राजस्व, नागरिक और सैन्य मामलों पर ब्रिटिश सरकार को रिपोर्ट करने के लिए कोर्ट ऑफ डायरेक्टर्स)

The regulating act — *The Regulating Act of 1773*

Pitt’s India Act of 1784

Features:-

1>Commercial and Political functions of the Company were separated.

2>Establishment of Board of Control to manage Political affairs.Court of Directors to manage Commercial affairs (Double government). ( Board of Control राजनीतिक मामलों का काम, Court of Directors वाणिज्यिक मामलों का काम )

3>Company’s territories were called “British possessions in India”(
भारत में ब्रिटिश संपत्ति ).

4> The British government took control over the Company’s affairs. (
ब्रिटिश सरकार ने कंपनी के मामलों पर नियंत्रण कर लिया )

Pitt's India act — *Pitt’s India Act 1784*

Charter Act of 1833

Features:-

1>Governor general of Bengal was made governor-general of India. (
बंगाल के गवर्नर जनरल को भारत का गवर्नर-जनरल बनाया गया )

2>All civil and military power were given to the Governor-general of India. ( सभी नागरिक और सैन्य शक्ति भारत के गवर्नर-जनरल को दी गई )

3>The legislative power of the Bombay and Madras governor was taken. (
बंबई और मद्रास के गवर्नर की विधायी शक्ति ले ली गई थी। )

4>Governor general of India held legislative power for the entire Indian territory. ( भारत के गवर्नर जनरल ने पूरे भारतीय क्षेत्र के लिए विधायी शक्ति का आयोजन किया। )

5>East India company became a purely administrative body. (
ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी विशुद्ध प्रशासनिक संस्था बन गई। )

Features:-

1>Formation of the separate legislative council. (
अलग विधान परिषद का गठन। )

2>Open competition for civil service exam. (
सिविल सेवा परीक्षा के लिए खुली प्रतियोगिता। )

3>Provincial representation in the central legislative council from Madras, Bombay, Bengal, Agra. ( मद्रास, बंबई, बंगाल, आगरा से केंद्रीय विधान परिषद में प्रांतीय प्रतिनिधित्व। )
